Woste98 is the latest version of a typeface
designed in 1993, published
on eWorld™, AOL and CompuServe during fall 1994,
then made available on the Internet and on a french Mac
newspaper during fall 1995.
The original font has a successful track of record, with
a professor of mathematics using it for his lectures and
exercises, as a study book about cartography for preparatory
classes illustrated various
maps with Woste.
The font was even found in January 1997 - in an
unregistered version - in an exhibition
about St Jean-Gabriel Perboyre (Missionary man in China,
19th century) . Woste was then featured on
Wanadoo on February 13th, 1997. It was also used for the
design of the 3D logo "WebWoste3" found on the welcome page
of this site.
Version 98 replaces all previous versions, with little
tweaks and enhancements as a significant price drop for the
shareware fee.
Woste98 is available as a downloadable archive only . All
you need is to fill in the download form presented to you,
which should not exceed 30 seconds.
- Woste98 is a TrueType™ font, and hence can be
used on a Macintosh a on a Wintel machine.
- The font covers all Latin characters.
- It is made available as a software archive,
containing the font itself, a Readme file (very similar
to what you are currently reading), and a registration
form.
- To decompress the archive, you need a decompression
program [Mac
| PC].

- Woste98 is released in electronic format only. Author
won't send any disk.
- Distribution permitted as a complete archive only.
Woste98 may be included in any CD-ROMs as soon as you
have my
consent.
Before any redistribution (online or offline); please
make sure that you have the latest version available
by comparing the last modified date on the "readme" file and
the date on the online file available at
http://www.dewost.com/libre/woste98.html.
If needed, download a fresh copy of the archive.
- Woste98 is shareware. You may use it for free for 30
(thirty) days after installation. Beyond that timeframe,
you may acquire a non exclusive, unlimited license to use
it, for a small amount of money. Or just trash it and
forget about it.
- The shareware fee is, starting September 17th, 1998 :

- 5 Euro (check only)
- FF 30 (check only)
- French Francs and Euro payments are to be sent
directly to me (instructions in the archive). Use only if
you have a bank account in french francs or Euros.
- Other currencies and payment means, please use the
'Register' application provided with the archive.

registration is now available .
- The license is valid for a maximum 2 (two) computers
(Home and Office), separated with less than 100 miles.
Site and worldwide licenses are also available,
plese check the documentation enclosed with the
font.
- The author waves any responsibility and liability for
any damages that could occur on your system due to the
presence of Woste98 on your hard drive.
